Month of October

The past month of October was a great success! We made great Halloween party props for the upcoming Primary Halloween Festival. Invitations were made for the festival. We customized each pumpkin-shaped card to make every one unique.

We watched General Conference together, which was a great experience. We ate food and created the invitations while carefully listening to each of the speakers. On October 19, Elder Bednar from the Quarom of the Twelve Apostles visited the Pittsburgh Stake for a youth meeting. It was a very special meeting where he actually interacted with the audience. He answered all our questions and gave us personal advice. It was a motivational and encouraging talk, which we all enjoyed.

Last Wednesday, we went to Simmons Farm for an afternoon of fun. We bounced along a hay ride, found our way through a corn maze, and picked pumpkins. We also swung on tire swings, played in corn bins, and risked our lives through the nature trail. We took the wrong way, and started at the exit. So it was much more difficult, ha! We rolled down nets in stead of sclaing ran down hills instead of climbing them.

This Wednesday is the Primary Halloween Festival, which we are hosting. There will be games, stories, and trunk or treat. That wraps up the month of October, and updates will be made throughout the next month!

Summer Review

The Pittsburgh 2nd Ward Young Women are proud to present the very first blog of its kind! This summer was a spectacular one for us, indeed! We did many fun-filled activities, including bike riding, ice blocking, slipping and sliding down the natural water slides, and baking. We also planted a magnificent garden with all the Young Women value colors. Unfortunately, it was brutally destroyed. We will hopefully be replanting it next spring. To top everything off, we ended the summer with an excellent slumber party! WOOH!
